What is DCM file format?
DCM (Digital Cinema Master) is a file format used by the motion picture industry for releasing digital film to theaters. It is a standardized container format designed to hold images, audio, and metadata associated with a motion picture and is based on the Digital Picture Exchange (DPX) file format. The DCM format contains (among other things): individual frames of video, with associated metadata; audio channels; subtitles; watermarks; and Digital Cinema Package (DCP) management files.
